Monday Morning

I wish the weekends could be longer sometimes. I did not get much work done, crocheting wise. I started on a new dishcloth using "Natural" from the Lions Brand line. I like the way natural works with other colors and everything! The pattern I'm using is more of a mesh type look. The way the texture feels, it should be a good cloth for scrubbing instead of wiping. Hopefully I'll finish it tonight and post a picture of it tomorrow.

Planning Ahead for the Weekend

I will be away from my computer for the weekend - enjoying the South Carolina countryside - here are my dish cloths for Saturday and Sunday.

I love the way blue and yellow look together! These also were done using a diagonal stitch pattern.

Enjoy!!!!

You can also see some of my other creations on Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25071825@N04/

Friday's Dishcloth

I love the look of the multi-colored with the blue edging. It looks somewhat retro to me. I added this one to my Etsy shop, My Life In Stitches.

Go ahead and take a look at it there!

I crocheted it using single crochet and for the larger blue one, I crocheted it using a shell bump pattern. This one was a little more time consuming. I prefer the diagonal stitch.

Diagonal Stitch Crochet DishCloth

This is my very favorite pattern to stitch - it is a diagonal stitch and so much fun to see it grow from one little square of double crochets, to the size you want and when you start to decrease, it goes sooooo fast!
I just listed this one in my Etsy store. You can find it here-

The Color Change Kitchen

Here is a wider view of the kitchen corner. The color did not come out as chocolaty as I wanted, I think it was missing a bit of black in it's color combination. This was also just one coat - we may go in and do another. I want to accent the kitchen with aqua. We are not sure if the black cabinets stay or will get painted a lighter color. I found a bright striped tablecloth on sale at Target and will be making curtains for the window from that. Stay tuned!.......

A blast from the past - here is a picture of the
corner of the kitchen before we bought the house. The color almost looks the same - except the previous color was a creamy yellow white.

Paint Day

Today is "Paint the Kitchen" day. We are changing from a mustardy gold semi-gloss to a creamy chocolaty beige satin - the color is "Haze" from Behr. Hopefully this will be the color we will settle on for the kitchen. I made multiple crochet cotton dishcloths to go with the new color. Can't wait to get the joint back together again! This picture shows the old color.

Welcome

Welcome to "My Life in Stitches." Feel free to follow along as I stitch my way through daily activities. My current "stitch" is crochet. I am enamored with the crocheted dishcloth and cannot stop making them. So much so, that I have not taken a picture of them yet. That will come along shortly. My favorite crochet dishcloth right now is the diagonal stitch. The texture and pattern is very pleasing to the eye and actually, very easy to work!
