Another Sale!

I made another sale from my Etsy shop. This is very encouraging and motivating. I really enjoy crocheting the diagonal stitch pattern for the dish cloths. It was an interesting stitch to figure out. I like the smooth feel the completed piece has as well as the pattern texture that is revealed row by row. However, I am considering getting some fun yarn and making a lap blanket in this pattern. It is an addicting stitch and it works up fairly quickly.

Changing My Color Palette

During this past week, I took a critical review of the yarn colors I have in my stash and came up DREARY! I imagine the colors I was choosing over the past months reflected my environment. Not to say I live in a dreary house - not by any means. It is more a reflection of the weather and temperature conditions I was living with. For the last 14 years, I enjoyed the balmy, sometimes humid, Florida breezes. This winter was the first time I dealt with constant freezing temperatures. I never imagined South Carolina getting sooooo chilly for sustained periods of time. We even enjoyed a snow flurry or two! So anyways, back to the review. I took serious stock of my situation and determined I needed to infuse some bright and clean colors into my yarn stash. I stumbled across some yummy colors while browsing Hobby Lobby last week. I feel so refreshed!

I Made A Sale!

I made a sale of one of my crocheted dish cloths. I wish it was from my Etsy store, but I'll take what I got from eBay! I am sooo excited. This is the first time I made something and instead of giving it away to friends and family, I made it with the intent to sell. Here's the picture of the set that sold on eBay.

The Day After The 15th

I am so glad it is April 16th today. That means all the stress and anxiety of leading up to April 15th is OVER! We had a move last year and unfortunately did not plan as well as we should have, which means...Uncle Sam wins all my spare change for the rest of the year. With that said, I put a few crocheted dish cloths on ebay. I have some on Etsy as well.

Please take a peek at them and buy one - help me support Uncle Sam this year! Here are the listings for the ones on eBay:

This will show all items I have listed.

Where has the Time Gone?

Wow - I did not think I left my blog alone for over a week. However, when the job calls, I answer - especially if I want to get paid. I have been working on a reversible afghan for my daughter. I started it wayyyyyy before the 2007 holiday season and was aiming for a completion date of the end of April - in time for her B-Day. It doesn't look like it will be done - but...I keep plugging away. Maybe because I'm making this wider than a lap afghan should be?!?

I'm stitching it in double crochet by going into the back of each stitch. The original pattern I saw a couple years ago on the internest, and cannot find, calls for single crochet. I started it with single, but it felt too heavy - stitching in double keeps the feel of the finished piece cozy and pliable. Here's a couple of pictures of it.
